Monday (8th) - France
This month, we are welcoming 12 young people into our bookshops for the purpose of engaging in community service. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to have an experience in missions work, so please pray that for each one, this will be a very positive time as well as a blessing for CLC France!
Tuesday (9th) - Portugal
Please pray that we will be ready in time this month with sending the files for our two new CLC Portugal publications (which will both be children’s titles) and that the printing processes will go well and accurately. Pray, too, that the ones we have chosen will be a great blessing once the books are finally released. Also, please give thanks with us for the return of team member Patricia, following her maternity leave.
Wednesday (10th) - Germany
At the end of May, a young lady came to our bookshop and engaged in a long conversation about the Christian faith. At the end of this, she purchased a Bible and (since she was aware that another faith forbids carrying the holy book below the hips), she asked the question: “To what must I pay special attention?” She was happy when I told her that for Christians, the most important thing is to keep our hearts right before God. We have many such encounters, for which we are very thankful.
Thursday (11th) - Cyprus
In May, we hosted a couple from Sri Lanka who were here on holiday. The husband told us how he used to be a Buddhist living and studying in Cyprus, and how the CLC bookshop was instrumental in him coming to know the Lord and receive His salvation. He is now married with two adult children who also follow Christ. What an encouragement to know that the bookshop ministry is so meaningful and worthwhile.
Friday (12th) - Cyprus
CLC is urgently looking for someone (or two people) who could manage the bookshop in Nicosia. Eva and Sotos Photiades have faithfully served in the shop for many years and, by now, they are well into their retirement season. They continue to minister each day because, so far, we have not succeeded in finding their replacements. Please pray for this urgent staffing need and that the bookshop may be able to continue for many more years on the beautiful island of Cyprus.
The Weekend (13th - 14th) - France
Please pray for our annual team conference, which will take place from September 16th - 18th at the headquarters in Montélimar. Pray that this will be a time of refreshment, inspiration and renewal for each one who will participate. Pray especially for Ollivier Queruel, the National Director, as he leads this time away together.
