CLC World Report Summary
2023 was a positive year for the ministry despite the country experiencing some tension. We still encounter regular periods of power outages. Our headquarters in Freetown was subject to acts of vandalism this year. We were unable to trace the perpetrators, but a night security staff has been employed.
With extensive fund raising we were able to purchase a motorised tricycle (known as a “kéké”) for outreach. The kéké, originally intended to be used in Freetown, is now being put to full use in Bo City. This is due to staffing changes in Freetown when CLC said goodbye to George Kapindi after almost 20 years in the ministry.
We also raised funds for the construction of a new bookshop in Bo City which would free us from rent. We now have a lease for 25 years with a very minimal rent.
Through a partnership with Crossway Publishers in the US, we distributed “Pastors Packs” with study materials. We put these into the hands of those least able to take advantage of the materials in our shops, including in rural areas.
There were visits by the National Director and the African Regional Director in March and again in November when they were able to participate in the official opening of the new bookshop.
