A Miracle Month at the Surabaya Bookshop

At the end of 2024, we saw many young people frequently visiting our bookstore, asking for gospel booklets. This surge in interest began after our staff placed the booklets outside the shop window to attract more people. It is encouraging to see high school and university students eager to explore these resources. Although digital platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and others offer similar Christian content for free, it is wonderful to see that younger generations are still seeking physical resources.

A Summer Programme brought them to our shop!
 
Some young ladies from Vietnam entered our shop and were thrilled to discover that they had found a Christian bookstore. The girls were on a summer programme to study our language, and they were also keen to share the gospel with other students. They didn’t know at first where they could find Bibles and other Christian literature, to give to the people they were talking to about Jesus. They prayed about this and God miraculously brought them to our bookstore! They visited us almost every day for a month, and consistently made a purchase. Although young, the girls were very mature; they were an encouragement, and they prayed for us. Also, thanks to them, sales were higher than usual.

Sharing the Word of God with everyone

"A group of Sunday school teachers from a Baptist church, accompanied by some children, arrived at our shop carrying bags filled with coins. They brought approximately £163 (about $200 USD), which was raised from offerings collected by the children during Sunday school. Their goal was to purchase Bibles and educational materials for their classes, as well as to share the Word of God with new children visiting the church. It touched our hearts to witness their dedication and enthusiasm for distributing the printed Word of God and the resources that the Lord has provided for such a time as this."
 
WE PRAISE THE LORD FOR OPPORTUNITIES to share the gospel with people around us and often gift them a Bible or a book. We love planting seeds for the kingdom!
