Looking Back...CLC USA at the Daytona Bike Week
Although most people who walk into our shops around the globe see businesses run by business people, we view ourselves in a different light. Yes, we do business, and we try to do so as well and effectively as we are able. But, more importantly, we consider ourselves to be missionaries, for the simple reason that, more than anything, we are driven by the desire to provide God’s Word to folks so that they can come into a relationship with God.

Perhaps one of the most unique examples of distributing the Bible is at the Biker Club’s annual gathering. In 2019, the gathering was expected to draw over a half million enthusiasts, ranging from casual motorcycle riders all the way up to the notorious motorcycle club, The Hell’s Angels. CLC USA made plans to attend this gathering in Daytona, Florida and, in addition to showing up at this most unlikely event, they brought along with them 10,000 specially printed Biker Bibles, which include testimonies of bikers who have come to Christ, as well as other helps.

One of the event participants shared his own story. As a young teenager growing up, his father was always working, and his mother struggled with mental issues. So this teenage boy was left to care for his brother and sister much of the time. Living in New York, he left home at age 16, for a fast and fluid life on the streets. Quickly, he found himself pursuing a life of alcohol, crime, drugs, music, and sex. Eventually, he landed in prison facing a long jail sentence, following the shooting of his own friend, who was coming at him with a knife. Empty and realizing he was far from God, this young man called out to God at that moment when he had reached the end of the line. Very graciously, his Heavenly Father did, in fact, provide release for him from prison, and he joined with CLC in sharing the Message at the Biker event with as many people as possible. What a wonderful opportunity!
