PRAYER FOCUS

Please join us as we pray each day for our teams and projects around the CLC World

Prayer Focus: August 17th - August 30th 2026

Week 34 - Europe & Central Asia

August 17th to August 23rd

Monday (17th) - Germany
Sadly, our bookshop in Germany closed at the beginning of the year, although the website still remains active. Pray for Valentin Schweigler as he works to complete all legal requirements relating to the closure before autumn this year.

Tuesday (18th) - Central Asia 1
Give thanks with us that here, CLC has a tenant paying good rent, bringing the operation close to break even. The tenant occupies the front of the shop while CLC operates from the back, which is considered safer.

Wednesday (19th) - Central Asia 1
The couple who have been working with us for many years have moved to another country, leaving us without staff. We are thankful for their dedication over a long period, so please pray for them as they relocate.

Thursday (20th) - Central Asia 1
As the couple working with us are moving (see yesterday’s point), we need to quickly find an affordable manager or possibly close. CLC owns the property, which would then need to be sold. Please pray about this situation.

Friday (21th) - Central Asia 1
For many years, CLC has continued despite low sales, due partly to the distribution of free literature by another organisation. The Bible Society also operates in this country. Please pray for wisdom going forward, given the previous days’ prayer points.

The Weekend (22nd - 23rd) - France
Please pray for our booksellers’ conference taking place this weekend. It is always a time for sharing experiences and offering encouragement, so please pray that we may listen to the Lord regarding His work and the projects to be undertaken.

Week 35 - The Caribbean

August 24th to August 30th

Monday (24th) - Barbados
Please pray for the members of our board as they need to quickly move forward with selling part or all of the CLC property to address debts and enable further purchases of stock if the ministry is to continue.

Tuesday (25th) - Dominica
Sadly, our Dominica shop closed earlier this year for economic reasons. We are thankful to Tajya Winston, who is courageously "continuing the work as a mobile tent ministry. Please pray for Tajya’s good health, strength, and spiritual encouragement.

Wednesday (26th) - Trinidad & Tobago
We praise God for His faithfulness and His goodness to us. We had reached a very low point financially, but then a publisher generously donated over thirty cartons of Bibles and other books for our ministry. God is always on time!

Thursday (27th) - Trinidad & Tobago
In addition to the generous gift of stock we received from one publisher (see yesterday’s point), we have also learnt that another stock donation is coming from a different source. Pray that through these gifts we may increase our income.

Friday (28th) - Antigua
Pray for Arah Martin and her team. Most Antiguans are Christian by background, but “complacency prevails in the face of serious spiritual and moral challenges” (Operation World). Pray for CLC to make a difference and impact the population.

The Weekend (29th - 30th) - Regional Director
Pray for our Regional Director, Jim Pitman, as he works closely with our teams on the Caribbean  islands. Pray  for  good  mutual understanding   and   strong   relationships with the local boards as well. Thank God for Jim’s fruitful USA connections.

The Weekend (15th - 16th) - Meetings
Please pray as we prepare for the meetings that will take place in the bookshops with authors or Christian professionals next month, that attendance may be high and that people may be edified.
